A wine to be enjoyed with food. Both the nose and palate have a blackberry and dark cherry character. There is a sweet middle palate and the soft savoury aromatic character of the Grenache leads on to a beautifully soft finish.

Appearance

Bright cherry red.

Bouquet

Perfumed aromas of strawberries, nutmeg, cinnamon and red cherries with a hint of cigar box and vanilla bean.

Palate

Shiraz and Grenache in balanced proportions deliver perfumed lift and juicy red berry fruits with the Mourvedre contributing the wines richness, length and structure. The front and mid palate are filled with a luscious mix of plums, red cherries, rhubarb and dark chocolate, complimented by rich, brown spices and subtle oak, finished with elegant and textural grape tannins. This is a classic regional style that is fantastic with food.

Winemaking

Shiraz batches matured in 2, 3 and 4 year old French and American oak were selected for their spice, character and sweet tannin profiles. The Grenache and Mourvedre was matured in large, new and 1 and 2-year-old French and American oak puncheons. The composition of the wine is Shiraz 46%, Grenache 42% and Mourvedre 12%.

Ageing potential

While crafted for immediate appeal, this wine will mature well with 3-5 years cellaring in controlled conditions.
