This single vineyard batch is sourced from the foothills in the eastern side of the McLaren Vale GI, where the cooler growing conditions and clonal selection produce a wine with amazing finesse and balance.

Appearance

Cherry red with purple hues.

Bouquet

Leafy choc-mint, fresh herbs and blackcurrant, with hints of cinnamon and nutmeg.

Palate

Red cherry and strawberry with a twist of redskin. The lovely fruit weight along with the elegant and balanced tannins gives the wine fabulous length, the clean finish enhances the desire for another glass. This wine is a focused and more delicate style of McLaren Vale cabernet sauvignon which is a superb match with food

Winemaking

The wine was open fermented, pressed at near dryness and finished off fermentation in 2-3 year old oak. The wine spent the next 19 months maturing prior to the best barrels being selected for inclusion in this wine.

Technical analysis

Ageing potential

While it has obvious immediate appeal, this wine will develop in the bottle over the next 5-8 years for those who enjoy aged wines
