Fox Creek Adds Wine to the WOMADelaide Melting Pot

Fox Creek is proud to announce a three year sponsorship deal with WOMADelaide, South Australia’s premiere international music festival. WOMADelaide, Sounds of the Planet 2006, will be held in Botanic Park in Adelaide from the 10th to the 12th of March. The event will showcase the music of a vast array of artists from across the globe. The icon of all multicultural musical events, WOMAD festivals aim to profile talent and diversity, allowing emerging artists to be heard.

Fox Creek is a significant patron of the arts in South Australia and will be providing wine and sponsorship to the WOMADelaide event as part of an ongoing commitment to the cultural growth and richness of the region.

Over 430 artists from 27 different countries will perform over the three days including the big names such as Miriam Makeeba, Jimmy Cliff and Talvin Singh along with hundreds of new sounds to be discovered. Local talent will include the likes of Paul Kelly & The Stormwater Boys and Jeff Lang.

Fox Creek was established by Jim and Helen Watts in 1984 and is recognised as one of South Australia’s premium shiraz producing wineries, with their Reserve Shiraz falling in the ‘excellent’ category in the 2005 Langton’s Classification of Australian Wine. Apart from producing outstanding wines Fox Creek also seeks to make a contribution to South Australia by supporting a range of cultural events.

Kristin McLarty, Marketing Manager of Fox Creek said, “this is exactly the kind of event we are proud to be associated with and support. WOMADelaide is an amazing point of convergence for so many cultures and age groups and if people enjoy our wines whilst soaking up the wonderful ambience then we’re happy.”

During the festival Fox Creek wines will be available both at the venue and at leading bars and restaurants throughout Adelaide. Visitors who would like to learn more about Fox Creek are always welcome at the cellar door in McLaren Vale just 45 minutes south of Adelaide.
