Fox Creek Triumphs in New York

Fox Creek’s Reserve Shiraz 2001 has been voted Australia’s finest, beating the celebrated Penfold’s Grange 1998, at an Executive Wine Seminars (EWS) tasting in New York this month.

The EWS is a widely respected wine organisation based in New York that specialises in tastings of the world’s finest and rarest wines. They have a long standing association with Robert Parker, America’s most influential wine journalist, who publishes the results and storyline of every EWS tasting on his website.

Each January the EWS have a blind tasting of the most coveted Australian shiraz releases within the past year to determine which is the best of the best.

And this year’s results declared that Fox Creek’s 2001 Reserve Shiraz “blew them away”.

Jim Watts, Managing Director of Fox Creek Wines said “We are delighted to be reviewed so well, particularly in light of the quality and prices of some the competing wines. We are very proud of our Reserve Shiraz.”

It was voted superior over the other wines that included d'Arenberg Dead Arm 2000 from McLaren Vale, Two Hands Lilly’s Garden 2001 and most notably Australia’s icon wine from the exceptional 1998 vintage, Penfolds Grange.

The results and story line of the EWS tasting can be found on the Robert Parker website.

Fox Creek Reserve Shiraz 2001 is in short supply but is likely to be available from discerning retailers nationally. Recommended Retail Price is $65 /bottle.
