Once again our wines performed well at the Sydney International Wine Show. This is the only show in Australia where the wine is judged alongside food.
On Friday night Fox Creek won the Small Business Award for outstanding export achievements (for any business with total annual sales not exceeding $5 million) at the 2008 Business SA Export Awards and we are now in the running for the National Award (keep your fingers crossed).
Craig McGill of Wine Dogs travels the world in search of those special canine friends that greet us every time we go wine tasting or visit a winery. It’s a known fact that behind every great winemaker sits a loyal dish-licking and taste-testing hound and of course Shadow was ours.
The wine world lost a faithful friend today. Shadow, the resident Border Collie and namesake of his own wine from Fox Creek in McLaren Vale, was loved by many. Shadow came into the public eye when Fox Creek released a red wine in 2001 that was named after his habit of chasing the vibrating trellis wire as the grape vines were pruned each year. The wine was called Shadow’s run.
