From publishing two books in 1989 Wakefield Press now release 40–50 titles per year in a range of fields, totalling more than 600 titles published over the 21 year period.They are now recognised as one of the country’s leading independent Australian publishers, regularly winning literary and production awards. It has a reputation for producing beautiful books in the areas of fiction, biography, history, food, gardening, travel, art, photography, poetry and popular culture.
